Our Story

MyPBM is a volunteer group of healthcare professionals who are passionate about expanding knowledge and improving the practice of Patient Blood Management (PBM) in Malaysia. We feel this is an important multidisciplinary field that promotes good medicine, improves patient outcome and boosts the economy.

The term “MyPBM” transpired as we, a small group of doctors, were working on co-hosting a PBM symposium with the Asia-Pacific Society of Patient Blood Management (ASPBM) in 2017.

In working together, we expanded with the intent to form a society that would pioneer and provide direction in the field of PBM in Malaysia. This dream finally became a reality in 2019, and the Malaysian Society of Patient Blood Management (MyPBM) was formed. MyPBM is the platform to spread the message on PBM and acts as a reference for the practice of PBM in Malaysia.

The Origins of the MyPBM Logo

The logo showcases the 3 pillars of Patient Blood Management coming together in unity to optimise and conserve blood. Ultimately, putting the patient at the centre of all efforts to improve patient outcomes.
